Good Bye Pappy!!

I thought this deserved a post all on it's own!! Clay has officially been without pappy for 4 days!! We are so proud of him! I have been thinking about it for awhile but to me he's still that little bitty baby so I just couldn't. The past 2 weeks he had gotten really attached to it asking for it all the time so I realized it was time for it to GO! Monday I cut the end off of it and of course he acted like nothing was wrong with it. My first thought was great what the heck do I do now. When he went down for bed that night I just didn't give it to him. He fought his sleep a little that night but not what I thought it would be like. He's only asked for pap once or twice and I just ignore him it works:) hopefully he will do good this week while we are gone I am praying so! We have knocked his bottles down to 2 one at nap and one at bed! I know he's 18 months old but his doctor wanted him to stay on the bottle till 15 months since he was a preemie and on the smaller side. So please everyone pray for us when we get back from vacation we will be getting him off the bottle completely! I know it's going to be hard. This week we have really enjoyed this overcast weather in the morning and rain in the afternoons! We have been getting up and going for a walk/run then heading to the park for awhile! I better get back to packing before nap time is over! Since he has made it almost a week without pappy we are going to the bookstore to buy a prize once he wakes up:)

Just A Little Behind...

I have sat down at least a dozen times to write this blog post but life happens.. When you have a 18 month old running around I have 2 hours during the day to get anything done I can't get done with him around. Nap time is a wonderful thing around here! Last Wednesday we left at 4AM heading to the beach for the Ellison Family beach trip! Our reason for leaving so early was oh Clay will sleep and we will get ahead of the traffic! Clay didn't go to sleep till about a hour before we got to the beach! On our way down we decided to stop by the naval museum it's a great way to spend the 4th it's really cool and FREE to get it. There is a donation box but no set admission! We had a blast at the beach Clay loved the beach and everything about it! Katy went with us to help out with Clay so it was great for Jason and I to have that relaxing time on the beach while he napped! On our last night we ate dinner at the new Tacky Jack's it was delish!! Clay loved the playground to play on while we waited! Having a spot to play in while you wait for a hour or even two when you have a toddler is very important!! Today we are heading south again for the Johnson family beach trip!! My grandparents rent a house in Destin for 7 days and my whole family goes throughout the 7 days! For those who know me personal my family is huge!! Tonight we will stop off at my NaNa's which is 2 hours from Destin spend the night and do a little shopping with her tomorrow then head for the beach tomorrow afternoon! I am super excited for my family to get to spend the week with Clay and see how much he has changed since they don't get to see him all the time! Here are some pictures from the beach trip last week!!

Fun Times Ahead...

July is going to be crazy busy as if June wasn't busy enough!! We have 2 back to back beach trips with our families! We are leaving EARLY Wednesday to go the beach with Jason's family and then come home for a few days to re-pack to leave for the big Johnson family vacation! We always have so much fun on both trips! I am so excited to see how Clay likes the beach! I am pretty sure he won't have a fit about the sand because he loves his sandbox and he's played on the sandbar at the river a couple of times with no problem! July is also a busy month of Birthdays for our family. Hopefully the month of August will slow down for us and we will just be awaiting the arrival of Clay's new best friend baby Grayson! We are so
excited for Le-Ah she's a wonderful friend and we love her dearly! This weekend we spent the weekend at my dads house my nana and cousin Elizabeth that we only see once a year. It was nice to see her and catch up! We made a trip to the river and to see the fireworks show in Valley Grande it was a wonderful weekend. I was worn out by the time we made it home yesterday and we were both ready to see JJ! Hope everyone has blessed and Happy July 4th!! We are looking forward to a relaxing beach trip!
